About this Item

Longview is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, in West Bengal in Eastern India near the Bangladesh border. The estate, which presents the visitor with majestic views of seemingly endless tea gardens, has over 500 hectares (about 1240 acres) under tea and is the largest producer in Darjeeling, making up 10% of all Darjeeling grown.

The farm, on the sloping hills of Kurseong, was begun in 1873, by early British tea planter C.G Adams. It is now owned by Longview Tea & Agro Ltd. Kolkata (formerly Calcutta).

This delicate wiry leaf with golden tips 1st Flush tea makes a terpeny floral scented golden brew, with subtle tropical fruity notes, almond and vegetal aromas are drawn out by a delicate dryness that is typical of a Darjeelings. almondy with hints of guava. We recommend a heavy leaf-to- water ratio, and short steep time (under 1 minute) for this exquisite 1st flush tea.
